New York’s Shake Shack A Food Destination For Many New Yorkers

Shake Shack, New York City Restaurants GuideNew York’s Shake Shack, which began as a hot dog cart in 2001, has grown into a food destination for many New Yorkers.

There are plans to expand this little chain into a national and international chain, with plans to open in various cities throughout the U.S., as well as multiple locations in the Middle East.

Northern Little Italy Community Association, NLICA, recently made a push to keep the burger joint out of their local neighborhood, and succeeded. Headed by Debra Zimmerman, NLICA’s mission is to keep their neighborhood “quiet, beautiful and safe.”

With the added traffic that could come from opening a popular fast food location, no one can really blame Zimmerman and NLICA for fighting to keep Shake Shack out of their neighborhood.
