Andy Roddick became the biggest casualty of the men's draw so far at the French Open as he lost 6-4 6-4 6-2 to qualifier Teimuraz Gabashvili.
Sixth seed Roddick, whose preparations have been hit by a virus, saw his miserable Roland Garros record extended by this loss to the world number 114.
For Gabashvili a possible quarter-final meeting with third seed Novak Djokovic awaits should he overcome Austria's Melzer or Spain's Ferrer.

Roddick crashes out in Paris

Andy Roddick slipped to a shock third-round exit at the hands of Russia's Teimuraz Gabashvili at the French Open.

Gabashvili has enjoyed the best results of his career on clay and looked right at home as he made light work of Roddick to continue his best ever run in Paris with a 6-4 6-4 6-2 win.

Fellow Russian player Mikhail Youzny picked up where he left off on Friday evening as he set up a fourth-round clash with home favourite Jo-Wilfried Tsonga by finishing off Viktor Troicki.
